Raccoon State Park

Some other pictures from Raccoon state park.
These pictures were taken on this little sloped dam/run off thing that excess water from the river flowed over. It made for a bit of a water slide and it was fun to climb/walk on.


Here is the slope the next few pictures were taken on, to give you a little context. Over the hump was the deep river that runs through the park (I cant remember what it's called)


Cracks between the concrete had tufts of grass growing on it

The water rushed down the slope with some force, and it was harder than it looks to stand still on the slippery slope.



Auto focus failed me here, but I still really like this picture.

Walking Taco 2?

Getting the idea from the trip a couple of friends made to raccoon state park, Mo and I decided to go down there ourselves to have a day away from the city.

In his post Jon introduced us to the idea of the walking taco.. Essentially a bag of frittos full of taco fillings. We had to try it and it was quite good I must say.

This is perhaps the strangest double exposure I've ever seen. Can you see it? No? Look a little closer.. It freaked me out the first time I saw it. I'm not entirely sure how this happened.

The first and the third photographs were shot on Fuji pro 400H, some fancy film that medium format people love to rave on about. Honestly, i dont know what to think.. I like the colors:tastefully desaturated, with strong blues and yellow. Grain is (mostly) under control. The phipps post from earlier was shot on this stuff, and frankly this film does not seem to handle the color green well. I have three rolls left to make a solid decision though. Fingers crossed.

p.s the shot of the crane from my dslr isnt completely unrelated.

Fire hazzard

I finally got down to editing some pictures I took close to christmas.
Fairy lights + Maureen.

I'm not dead.

Just working.
I havent been able to take many pictures lately, but that said I do have a few that I need to process. My computer is being a little bitch and i'm going to have to do some massive cleaning up before i'm able to use lightroom on RAW pictures again.

The picture below is one of a few i've taken, unfortunately this is only one i've had time to process and I'm afraid it'll be new years before I get the others uploaded.

I have some pretty boring pictures of the snow storm that hit the US east coast last weekend, and ill try to post those pictures soon.
Because everyone LOVES second rate pictures. Shiiit.

Museum

These shots are from a small trip to the Carnegie museum on Sunday to see a new whale exhibit. I dont really have any pictures of the whale exhibit itself because exhibits on loan cant be photographed.

Museums are wonderful places to photograph if you have the patience and have a good idea of what kind of composition you want. It is very easy to walk around and take wide shots of everything here and there, with a glaring flash like I see a lot of people do (I have been guilty of this myself, but im trying to fix it).
